Rishikul Yogshala was founded in Rishikesh, ‘the world capital of yoga’ over five years ago and in this time we have spread health and contentment through the traditional art of yoga. This May we are moving to a new location to continue to inspire and teach budding yogis in a serene and contemplative environment. We are always giving priority to our students comfort as a yogi’s home should extend a feeling of joy warmth and happiness giving our guests a hug.
The View:
Our new home, located in the Jonk Village area of Rishikesh, a ten minute walk from Ram Jhula yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the crowds. The outlook faces the breathtaking Himalaya’s, which surrounds us on three sides. There are rice fields and mango trees in direct vista, so watching the locals at work and play broadens our guests cultural experience.
The Location:
This area is accessible by footpath only, meaning no cars are allowed, however this being India there are of course many a dog, cow, bike and man to keep you amused. This is why this location is by far our favorite as you get a peaceful feeling yet a sense of the real India, with the wonderful Bhoothnath Temple looking down on us. Within a five minute walk you can be in the forest in one direction and lap up the Ganga in the other. Yet we are surrounded by the yoga community, pop into any local cafe and find a fellow yogi ready to share their passion with you.
Your Comfort:
Ultimately during an intensive yoga teacher training course our students comfort is the main concern. Where you are located should be a haven to concentrate on your studies and immerse in the yogic lifestyle. The spacious rooms are each individually decorated including a ensuite marble bathroom with hot and cold water and all the modern facilities to make staying comfortable.
The Yoga Halls:
The building has two spacious yoga halls on the top floor allowing any practice to start and finish with a vista overlooking the Himalayas. Decorate in a serene nature all equipment can be provided.
The Dinning:
During the all important meal times we have a full service restaurant and garden area to sit, read, eat and socialise with fellow course mates. All food is freshly prepared by our dedicated cooks to Ayuverdic vegetarian guidelines.
The Spa:
After a long day of yoga sciences the on site Ayurvedic spa is on hand to help you with any treatment of your choice by highly trained experts. Be it a massage or Panchkarama treatment, find out your Doshas and how to live an Ayuverdic lifestyle for better health. There are also many shops and cafes located nearby for all of your requirements, from beautiful stationary to yoga mats and bags.
