Human mind is a complex mechanism. For thousands of years, sages and saints have been seeking to find that one great way to stop the unwanted blather that dampens the conscience. They meditated for days, called in the Divine powers and changed their ways of life, to unravel the path to a silent mind and contended soul. Battling the chaos of the modern world, many saints revealed that the path of oneness of mind and soul is nothing but “Samadhi”.

The modern world has defined this pious way-out in so many different ways by calling it as a type of mindfulness meditation, ability to sit at one place for hours and what not. However, the essence of Samadhi is nothing but to increase the resistance towards negative circles of life.

What Constitutes the Negative Circle of Life?

The presence of “self “and the absence of “serve” are two of the prime reasons why you are carrying the load of your Karma. The shastras believe and teach us that every human being carries the load of their deeds through lives and with each incarnation the load either increases or decreases. It is clear that more the despair in your current lifetime, the bigger the baggage of wrong deeds in the last incarnation. Do you think that this true? It is a reality on all levels and what traps us in negative circle is our own sense of greed, ego, and anger. The negative emotions can never let you serve others or think in favor of other people’s goodness or worth.

Samadhi: How Can I Reach There?

Buddhist calls it an invincible way to triumph over the odds in life that stops you from being the best. Your best version will be devoid of any negative connotations and will be replete with positivity and conscious approach towards life. Life is unfair for everyone and this is why many people in this lifetime stay in the dungeon of their thoughts and fall prey to the false temptations. The art of meditation and attaining Samadhi teaches you why letting go is the best decision ever and dwelling in the thought patterns of “I am not good enough” is detrimental for your well-being.

Many Yogis compare the art of meditation with Samadhi but there is a sea of difference between the two and somewhere down the line regular Yogic practices finally lets you attain the state of complete absorption or Samadhi. Yoga Sutra, the central scripture of Yoga philosophy, says that when you meditate your mind focuses on three facts- “I am meditating”, “XYZ is my object of focus”, and “I am the one who is taking on the process”. Your mind constantly sways side-to-side touching base with each of these facts. However, if you observe the deep facts, you would realize that your mind is one and it cannot have tiny little parts that concentrate on multiple little things. This is why beginners face challenges while meditating for long hours because for them focusing on only the object is a daunting task. They constantly remind themselves that the object and the mind are two different things and both of these entities need my attention. Attaining the final stage of Samadhi sets you free.

There is no one cut to reaching this final state of human mind & soul evolution. As you practice mindfulness meditation and become more self-aware, when your fears surface and you learn to fight them, and when you realize that nothing is true in this world but your high purpose, is the time you shall achieve this final stage of “spiritual absorption”.

What Samadhi Teaches You & Where it Takes You

Nothing comes easy and if it is easy then it is not worth it. Maharishis and Yogis spent years of their life practicing meditation and finally reaching the state where they now performed Samdhis. It is not a mere position wherein the person sits for long hours with his eyes closed and mind focusing on his object, but a horizon where his mind, thoughts, and temporary beliefs melt and shine together. This is a state where a person finally knows that his existence in this human body is a matter of chance and his higher purpose is to serve the less fortunate.

You will realize the following when you reach this state:

  • The step is Dharma Megha Samadhi, which means ultimate enlightening experiences.
  • Your mind will focus on the object that you focus on and everything else will be out of the zone.
  • Your soul shall know its higher purpose and you will visualize it while you meditate.
  • As you mature in your practice, you will understand that the journey from meditation to Samadhi was just a destined path to your better self
  • Your memory shall be sharper than ever and the retrieving power will be on its highest state
  • You shall experience Siddhis in your initial phase wherein, you will come across clairvoyance or astonishing sensory experiences.

The route to gaining clarity in your life through the power of meditation finally ends at Samadhi, when you feel everything in silence and stillness. You will learn that the crux of everything is gaining the attitude of Vairagya, which means that strive for excellence but do not make a fuss about it.
